Course Description

This course aims to develop the foundation skills and knowledge required to work in a range of human resources management positions.


It is suitable for those currently employed in small businesses who work across all aspects of human resources as well as those in larger companies who have responsibility for a singular aspect of human resources such as remuneration.


Course Outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to continue to higher studies in business, or undertake various tasks in an office environment, and in positions such as:

·    human resources assistants

·    human resources coordinators

·    human resources administrators

·    payroll officers

This course consists of 10 units of competency; 1 core unit and 9 elective units. Students are required to complete all of the following to achieve this qualification:



Pathways into the Qualification

This course is suitable for those who have completed BSB40215 Certificate IV in Business or other relevant qualification/s with vocational experience in assisting human resources team leaders, supervisors or managers in their work but without formal human resource qualifications.


Non-school leavers are selected according to eligibility and merit, work experience, previous study, and personal competencies.
